We hope everyone was able to spread some love this past weekend, whether with your loved ones or at anti-ICE events, like the ICE Breaks Hearts event on 2/13 (pictured below). Every day, I-WM demonstrates that love is more powerful than hate, and that’s why we keep showing up. For our families, our neighbors, and our country. You can’t spell community without “U” and “I”.

What’s Indivisible Westminster planning next?

Our 2026 focus is the Primaries - we need to have that blue wave to correct the direction of our political environment.  For our Independent voters, I hope that you were able to temporarily change your position to democrat just for this election period.  Thereafter you can easily return to the Independent status.  We have added more protests to our Arvada/Westminster schedule to get your attention to what’s going on.  We’ve seen many new faces show up each week to participate in the spirited & joyful protests in our community.  And while protesting, I’ve seen many folks laugh and exchange information to stay in touch.  It’s great to see our new protesters building new friendships, because you’re not a stranger for long!  This year we are looking at new and future events to make personal connections with you.

We’re looking forward to our fun Wednesday nights to meet up with other Indivisible groups to work on projects, special events or dinner at local restaurants.  And a big change to our immigration program, we’re been reaching out to folks in the community to connect and provide better educational materials and support.

If you’re on the fence about what you should/could do … it’s not to late to join our group by going to I-WM.org or going to https://indivisible.org/get-involved/take-action/ to find a group near you.  I can guarantee you the camaraderie connections are inspiring and motivating.

Our Discord Server and the Policy Change

Discord is changing its policy for adult-content servers and requiring proof of age through ID and/or photos. This effort is to protect children from content they shouldn’t have access to. This does NOT impact our team’s Discord server, as we don’t host adult content.

Report SALUTE to CORRN for ICE

There are a lot of acronyms floating around these days, but these might be the two most important to protect against ICE in Colorado: SALUTE and CORRN. CORRN, or the COlorado Rapid Response Network, works to protects us and our community against ICE activity.

When you see ICE, call CORRN at 1-844-864-8341 (save this to your phone contacts now!) and report S.A.L.U.T.E.

  • S: Size or number of agents (Tamano del grupo)

  • A: Actions or Activities (Actividades)

  • L: Location - be as specific as possible (Ubicacion)

  • U: Uniforms - how they are dressed (Uniformes)

  • T: Time - very critical (Tiempo)

  • E: Equipment - vehicles, other gear (Equipamiento)

Use this acronym to capture and report all the important information for CORRN to initiate a response and track their activity.

As a fun side note, an Australian 13 year old reportedly suggested another fun acronym we could use as our local response groups: LAVA, or Local And Very Angry. Because LAVA melts ICE.

Mental Health

The Power of Positive Affirmations

Have you considered affirmations to lift and rewire your outlook?  Affirmations can have a positive change in your mood, lift your self-esteem, reduce stress and help create growth mindset with daily repetition.  Help yourself by getting rid of the negative and booster a new mindset.  This effort will take some time, give it a try!

Below are techniques to instill Affirmations:

  • Repetition: On a daily bases repeat messages to yourself, such as "I am confident and secure in myself,” “I am enough”.

  • Visual Prompts: Brighten up your day with positive sticky note(s), cards on mirrors, or post in your car.

  • Integrate with Routines: Practice repeating your positive affirmations while brushing teeth, driving, or before bed.

  • Authenticity: Choose self-affirmations that resonate personally for you.  That message that will boost your spirits.

  • Present Tense: Create sentences in the "I am" format to foster immediate belief.

As you know I am a fan of a great source to support our mental wellness.   Check out the article below on Positive Thinking - it is worth the read.

Quick and Easy From Your Couch

Here are some suggestions for those of you without too much time or mobility!

  • Call: Call our Senators (one who is running for governor!) and demand they oppose the SAVE Act, which will take voting rights away from millions and effectively impose a poll tax, which is illegal. See 5 calls script for more.

  • Talk: In your daily conversations, reference the current events happening and start more conversations around it. Some folks are trying to bury their head in the sand, and we need to bring it to their doorstep.

  • Watch: A clip from the movie, The Darkest Hour, where Winston Churchill gets on the subway in London to ask the people what stance he should take against Hitler. It’s inspiring and the stance we need from our leaders against these New Wave Nazis.

Politics at Play

‘Ello, Gov'na!

With some upcoming governor events, let’s take a look at the folks running for governor. As always, please do your own research into candidates to make an informed decision.

Some Background

Governors only have 1 four-year term, and Democrat Jared Polis, a former House Representative, currently holds this position. He won in 2018 and won re-election in 2022. Prior to Polis, current Senator Hickenlooper was governor. Polis started out with a strong stance against 47 by starting the Governors Safeguarding Democracy group, with the governor of Illinois and several other states. However, he’s shown signs of wavering, and we need a strong candidate to take his place and uphold Colorado as an American stronghold. And, maybe it’s time for some fresh faces, without donations from foreign governments.

Sizing up the Candidates

There are currently 5 Democrat candidates for this office:

  • Michael Bennett, current US Senator. If he becomes governor, he will leave an open position in the Senate. As governor, he would appoint his replacement senator, and he hasn’t said, as of 2/8/2026, who he will appoint.

  • Phil Weiser, current Attorney General (AG). As CO AG, Weiser has sued Trump’s administration 52 times, and he’s mostlly won. See The Colorado Sun’s ongoing tracker of these lawsuits.

  • Carmen Broesder. Broesder, an engineer and non-profit founder, is focused on protecting Colorado’s environment, families and freedom. She is a newcomer to politics and Colorado, moving here from Idaho in 2024.

  • Anthony Martinez. Martinez has a 32-year public service career, and his campaign is focused on workers over billionaires, supporting education, and public safety.

  • William Moses: A former US Air Force lieutenant colonel, Moses looks to support law enforcement against the “drug plague” affecting CO; aid Colorado’s farmers; and improve the lives of our educators.

There are 10 Republican candidates and 10 unaffiliated or 3rd party candidates. While we’re focused on promoting Democrat party leadership, we all remember how we felt after the most recent Blue Wave in November 2025 - how after some huge wins, they caved immediately to the Republicans on the bill that took away healthcare from millions of Americans. It’s not enough to be Blue - we demand them to also be True. True to their word and true to we the people.

ABOUT US >

We are a Colorado volunteer organization formed in 2025 in Westminster and the surrounding areas, under the Indivisible banner.

We have come together as a local group stricken by this administration’s actions and promises, as well as by the  decades of strategic planning that have allowed for it.

We operate under the assumption that we can direct meaningful change, regardless of how small.
