Chasing whimsy for a boost of dopamine
Many of us may know what whimsy is, but to make sure we’re all on the same page: whimsy is an unexpected, playful, or fanciful idea or quality. Doing something on a whim, without forethought or judgement, just because it sounds fun. It’s become a trend over the last couple years, and it seems like a concept here to stay. So, how does chasing whimsy help our mental health?
When was the last thing you did something for the sake of your own joy and whimsy, without concerns for judgement? Well, here are some ideas to get you started.
Resist the urge to feel embarrassment or childish. Focus on the raw, naive joy. When we accept all of ourselves, we can more easily accept others.
