Stomping out the Control of Skinny Culture
Skinny culture is back with its toxic pull on folks. From Hollywood to influencers, it’s permeating our media, and this is not a coincidence. Those in power leverage this tool to better control others, and it’s been a powerful tool of the patriarchy in suppressing women. Good health is good resistance.
Health Risks of Skinny Culture
Extreme dieting restricts your energy in several ways. Pushing society towards thinness causes people to spend excessive time and energy on superficial pursuits rather than constructive ones. It encourages people to hate themselves. Additionally, restricting calories reduces your energy and mental capacity. Our brains demand the most energy of any organ in our bodies, consuming half the sugar in the body. We need to consume a healthy diet to function. While this looks different for everyone, there are healthy and unhealthy ways to approach

Rooting and Rallying for Rutinel’s Mid-Term Run Against Evans
Manny Rutinel won the Democratic candidacy for the CD-8 House of Representatives mid-term race in November. Of the Democratic candidates, Manny was the strongest. He’s also moved towards the center to appeal to a wider variety of voters in CD-8. Congrats to Manny, his team, and everyone who supported him. Now, a different battle is ahead of them.
Turning our focus to the mid-terms, Gabe is a different character than the other Democratic candidates. He’s established and experienced, but, on the other hand, his experience portrays a puppet controlled by the unjust rule of Republicans in the House of Representatives. Also, a reminder: Gabe Evans won by only a few thousand votes compared to his candidate last election. He was not popular, and he should be less so given his bootlicking behavior.
Gabe has got to go, and we need all hands on deck. Democrats and the left will need to appeal to a wider audience, and let go of their superiority complex that is only a facade for the Dems at this point. To do this, let’s talk to our neighbors and Listen. Listen carefully and ask questions. Remain open because Dems can win this November if they play their cards right. Get involved however you can!
Who and where does CD8 consist of
From Wikipedia (source): "Colorado's 8th congressional district stretches along Interstate 25, encompassing sections of Adams County, Larimer County, and Weld County. The largest population centers are Brighton, Commerce City, Greeley, Johnstown, Northglenn, and Thornton.
The district has the largest number of Hispanic residents of any congressional district in Colorado, making up 38.5% of the adult population. The 8th congressional district is viewed as competitive, with the Democratic Party holding a 3% lead in active registered voters and an average margin of victory of 1.3% between eight statewide elections held between 2016 and 2020.
Joe Biden won the area that is now the 8th district by 4.7% in the 2020 United States presidential election. Republicans are strongest in Greeley and Weld County, while the northern Denver suburbs in Adams County lean Democratic."
